queerupnorth has a very small but committed staff team which, on its own, isn’t big enough to deliver the diverse range of events we do each year. We need your help to do that.  

Our team of dedicated and reliable volunteers undertake every conceivable role, from marketing and publicity work to liaison with artists and performers, from admin in the office to researching projects with the Artistic Director or carrying out elements of event production. If there’s a particular type of work you’re most interested in getting involved with, and we think you’ve got the skills to handle it, then we’ll try and make it happen for you.

The festival itself takes place in the month of May each year and the months from January to June are particularly intensive, but we are also involved in special projects & events during the rest of the year that bring with them their own challenges & opportunities. 

If you would like to talk about joining the team please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you. You can work with us on a schedule that is convenient for you, at a regular time each week or more sporadically when it suits you. You might be thinking specifically about professional work experience or just looking for something interesting to do in your spare time. Whatever your reasons, we’d be very happy to talk it through with you.
